Purpose

Risk is inherent in our business. The identification and management of risk is central to the Company’s commitment to Work Health and Safety. By identifying and understanding the hazards present in our operating environment we can minimise or eliminate the risks in operational tasks.


Scope

Employees and contractors at all operational sites.


Goals

 The Company aims to ensure:

  1. All workplace hazards are identified

  2. Hazard and risk management is applied to both routine and non-routine tasks

  3. Risk assessments are conducted for all identified hazards

  4. Wherever possible hazards are eliminated from the operating environment

  5. When elimination is not possible controls are employed to minimise risk


Method

The goals of the hazard and risk management policy will be achieved by:

  • Ensuring regular safety assessments and audit are conducted at all operational sites

  • Pre start checks

  • Continuously review hazards and operating procedures to improve work practices

  • Incident Investigation

  • Hazard reporting

  • Risk Assessments

  • Take 5 checklists

  • Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA)

  • Training and Competency

Roles and Responsibilities

Position Role
General Manager To ensure the hazard and risk management process supports the Work Health and Safety Strategy
Managers Ensure compliance with Hazard & Risk Management Policy and Procedures
Review hazard controls for continuous improvement process
WHS Coordinator Support Managers, team leaders and supervisors in the identification, rating and control of hazards in the workplace
Conduct workplace audits
Lead incident investigations
Provide training in hazard identification in the workplace
Team Leaders /
Supervisors
Ensure hazards are identified, reported and controlled in the workplace
Ensure compliance with company procedures and JSEA’s to manage hazards in the workplace
Assist and mentor workers in hazard identification in the workplace
Workers Report hazards in the workplace
Follow JSEA’s and procedures in order to control identified hazards
